Your Story Matters
I see life as a book—each chapter shaping who we are. As someone who’s always been a devoted reader, with my Kindle constantly nearby and books stacked high on my shelves, I’ve come to appreciate how much our lives mirror the stories we read. Like any good novel, we encounter turning points, complex characters, and defining moments. Some chapters are joyful and bright; others can feel confusing, heavy, or painful. And sometimes, it seems like parts of our story were written without our voice—or skipped entirely.
There are quiet, solitary moments, like reading alone in the dark. And then there are chapters filled with laughter and light, surrounded by others. Our emotional experiences are often the same. Sometimes, we sit with pain in silence; other times, we find healing through connection and shared stories.
As your therapist, I want to sit with you in those pages. I’ll help you make sense of the story so far and support you as you begin writing your next chapters with intention, healing, and hope.
Professional Background & Approach
My clinical experience includes supporting youth with complex emotional and behavioral needs, including those navigating trauma, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and neurodivergence. During my time at Parkridge Valley Child and Adolescent Center and other mental health facilities, I provided evidence-based support using DBT-informed approaches, emotional regulation strategies, and individualized coping skills.
I have worked with both verbal and non-verbal clients and am familiar with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices. My work with children and teens with special needs has been an incredible gift, and I’m passionate about meeting each client—and their family—where they are. I believe every child has innate strengths and that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for growth and understanding.
A Therapy Dog in Training
From time to time, my dog Bailey may make an appearance in sessions, if that’s something you’re open to. She’s currently training to become a certified therapy dog and is known for her gentle presence and boundless affection—especially with kids. If you’re allergic to dogs or would prefer she not attend, just let me know and she’ll gladly take the day off to relax at home.
Working Together
I currently offer individual therapy for children, teens, and adults, creating a warm, supportive space where your voice is heard and your story is honored.
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. In our first session, we’ll explore what brought you here and begin crafting a plan that reflects your unique needs, strengths, and goals. Together, we’ll build practical coping skills, deepen your self-awareness, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change—one chapter at a time.
Starting therapy is a brave step. You already carry strength within you, simply by showing up. I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you heal, grow, and write the next part of your story.
